Team Assistance Scheme

Financial assistance may be provided to teams for appointment of a part-time coach/instructor to give team training for a recognized competition/performance, and for competition fee as well as team uniforms of participating team members. Student societies may also apply for financial assistance to organize student activity courses for HKUST students.

Application for assistance can be made anytime throughout the year. A large part of the assistance will be allocated in the main exercise in July. A small portion will be available throughout the year for ad hoc applications on a first-come-first-served basis. Criteria and procedures for administering the assistance are reviewed from time to time.

Sports Team Assistance Scheme

Sports Team Assistance Scheme (STAS) is to support the University Sports Teams formed by Sports Clubs affiliated to HKUSTSU or by Sports Groups recognized by the Sports Development Team of Office of the Dean of Students' Office (DSTO). The Scheme will subsidize the coaching fee of the part-time coach, competition registration fee and team uniform of team members participating in the recognized sports competition.

University sports teams should seek the endorsement of the Sports Advisor on the Application for Assistance and submit it together with the required supporting documents before the stated deadlines. The applications received will be considered according to the Allocation Guidelines set by the STAS Consultation Group.
